Optoma launches new interactive throw distance calculator

Optoma, award-winning projector manufacturer, has just launched a new online throw distance calculator. The interactive tool includes several new features to help select the Optoma projector that best fits the environment.

Justin Halls, Optoma’s Product Marketing Manager, said: “We wanted to make it easier for customers to identify which projector is best suited to their room.

“The throw distance calculator can be used to determine which lens is required for the successful installation of your Optoma projector, or the screen size or throw distance you will need given your current Optoma projector and lens combination.”

The newly designed online tool allows users to adjust the screen size and projector height by simply dragging the arrows. Other new features include the option to input screen gain*, image brightness, room height/offset, multiple aspect ratio options and lens shift range.

The new Optoma throw distance calculator is available to use now:

Users will need Microsoft Silverlight plugin to be installed in their browser for the calculator to work. If your browser does not redirect, it can be downloaded here: https://www.microsoft.com/silverlight/

*Gain is a measurement of the reflectivity of a screen or projection surface.
