Job Description

About the role

Optoma is the #1 DLP brand in EMEA. This is Optoma’s first direct sales hire in East Africa — a ground-up, first-mover entry into the continent’s fastest-growing display market. You will build distributor relationships, win direct accounts, and execute a structured sales plan to drive revenue from day one.

This is a high-impact, high-autonomy role for a driven sales professional who thrives in a first-mover, entrepreneurial environment. You will report to the Territory Manager META.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a territory sales plan for projectors, IFPs, and displays across East Africa.
  • Identify, appoint, and onboard new authorised distributors in Kenya from scratch.
  • Expand the reseller network into Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, and Ethiopia.
  • Win B2B accounts in education, corporate, government, and NGO/international org sectors.
  • Engage early in procurement cycles to ensure Optoma is specified in tenders and RFPs.
  • Organise product demos, training events, and workshops for distributors and end-users.
  • Maintain accurate pipeline, forecasts, and reporting.
  • Meet and exceed quarterly revenue targets and sell-through milestones.
  • Gather competitive intelligence and report market trends to the Territory Manager META.

Candidate Specification

About You

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Experience in B2B sales in IT, AV, or display technology.
  • Proven track record in projector or IFP product sales preferred.
  • Direct experience working with the East African dealer/distribution channel.
  • Knowledge of East African education market and government procurement.
  • Demonstrated ability to build a channel network from scratch.
  • Existing AV distributor or reseller relationships in Kenya a strong advantage.
  • Results-driven with a consistent record of meeting and exceeding targets.
  • English required; Swahili a strong advantage.
  • Comfortable with autonomy, reporting remotely to the Territory Manager META.
  • Experience in greenfield / cold-start sales territory a plus.
