Job Description

Hybrid Working - 50% in Hemel Hempstead Head Office (HP1 2UJ) and 50% Remote


The Integration Developer (Boomi) will take the technical lead in integration-related projects, carrying out systems design tasks to support the scoping, definition, development, and implementation of integration solutions, by strategic direction.

Key Responsibilities

The Integration Developer is responsible for creating solutions for global system needs that meet the interfacing requirements. The interfacing requirements could be creating different kinds of repeatable and highly configurable Boomi integrations and ERP workflows and creating automated test scripts to test the integrations. The Engineer should have in-depth knowledge of the Boomi platform and good knowledge of the ERP NetSuite.

Experience with Dell Boomi is essential for the Integration Developer.


  • The Integration Developer will be responsible for providing expert integration advice and guidance at a Senior level.
  • Provide technology and business change support to our client.
  • Monitor, analyse, and manage delegated budgets, funding, and resources by council policies and procedures.
  • Design and develop Web Services and APIs.
  • Be responsible for the integration of ERP systems in a financial accounting context and associated financial terminology.
  • Work with application developers, business analysts, functional leads, and business subject matter experts to provide integration and development services to meet the strategic objectives of the business.
  • Lead one or more integration domain specialisms, including ERP Finance interfaces, online payments, and the Boomi Integration Platform.
  • Understand the requirements of the key stakeholders.
  • Create functional requirement documents enlisting detailed user stories and use cases.
  • Produce detailed technical test cases for functional requirements in close collaboration with business analyst.
  • Support the solution architects in preparing the design document and recommendations for optimal solution approach.
  • Code, test and deploy the Boomi interfaces.
  • Create Groovy scripts to be used in Boomi integrations and NetSuite workflows.
  • Create automated test scripts to test Boomi processes.
  • Work closely with developers to resolve technical issues in Boomi, Groovy, and NetSuite.
  • Own technical delivery for assigned projects to deliver within timelines and with good quality.

Candidate Specification

Key Skills & Experience:


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of industry experience; minimum 24-36 months on Boomi on production projects.
  • Involvement in designing and developing integration using the Boomi AtomSphere integration platform.
  • Experience in Dell Boomi components, connectors, Application Source Qualifier, Mapping Designer, and knowledge of API management concepts.
  • Knowledge of Rest API, SOAP framework, XML, Web service design.
  • Experience in creating interfaces for upstream/downstream applications.
  • Detailed analytical and logical reasoning skills.
  • Ability to break down business requirements into technical specifications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and handle parallel executions.
  • Extensive knowledge of integration with on-premise systems and SaaS using RESTful APIs, XML JSON, OData, and Web Services.



  • Java programming knowledge.
  • Advanced backend Java development experience.
  • Groovy scripting knowledge.
  • Experience in creating and managing APIs using Boomi.
  • Boomi external certification.
