Excellent even after a year of main screen constan

So here is a 3d projector that is bright enough to use in daylight instead of a TV.
The 1080p resolution brightness and contast are a marked improvement over my previous Hd65 720p projectors.
The only downside is the lack of compatability with my old zd201 3d glasses from the 3dxl I owned, which I did not discover until after I'd bought it the projector. Which required me to buy the newer zd301 glasses. It would be nice to have a compatability mode so I could use both sets, but there you go! The price of improved performance!
The new glasses requirement is due to higher framerate frequency (150hz instead of 120hz) of the dlp shutter glasses on this model. To be fair the newer zd301 glasses are very good, and some sensitive people may notice they are less flickery, and its nice to have usb rechargable glasses rather than discovering you have a flat battery and none in stock when you want to watch 3d!
Some say that 3d is dead, but you really need the large screen experience of a 70+ inch screen to appreciate the 3d depth. For this you need either very deep pockets or this projector!
The cross talk is non existant with these glasses and the projector is sufficiently bright to compensate for the active shutter glasses!
The only thing that might be considered an upgrade from this projector would be an 4k oled panel of equivalent size! But since that would run to something like 10-20 times the price, Ill be keeping this one for now!
Sure for a true cinema experience you need lights off curtains closed, and a good reciever to provide the sound, but that is what home cinema is all about!
Ive paired this with an Onkyo TXNR 3030 for a dolby atmos experience that makes my home setup one to rival and arguably exceed the experience of visiting my local multiplex!
Optoma HD26 Is an Awesome Projector!

After reading reviews, both positive and negative, I was skeptical about Optoma projectors. But, after purchasing a HD26 projector, I am sold on the Optoma product line. When my family and friends viewed the movie Hugo in 3D, they were astonished at the picture quality. Anyone on the fence about the Optoma should not hesitate to buy one. It is a quality projector worthy of the name, Optoma!

Quality projector at a reasonable price. Great picture without blackout, easy set up.

The perfect spec of projector and at a price that competes well above its weight. The best this is though that its white so is less obvious when ceiling mounted.
The HD26: Stunningly bright, vast picture

This is my third Optoma projector. They're such a reliable brand - surviving foreign trips, house moves, and even that time I burnt a Christmas Tree in the fireplace and filled the inside of a projector with tar.
Every time I've bid a sad farewell to an old projector (the last one managed nearly 7 years), I've always reached immediately for a new Optoma.
This time the step-up from my beloved HD20 to the HD26 is staggering. This fills my living room wall, and the picture is so bright that it banishes closing the curtains during the daytime, or even "can you turn that light off?". Actually, it's so bright you don't even need to bother with another light in the room while it's on.
At the same time it's quieter and uses less power. It also takes a commanding tone with kit that's connected to it. Much to its own surprise, my old laptop discovered it could deliver a full HD picture after all.
Indeed, the only disadvantage is that the picture is so bright and clear that it really shows up the dodgy picture quality of badly-encoded old DVDs, making them look like wedding video VHSes! This is clearly a projector designed for high-definition gaming, TV and film.
Finally, the HD26 was quite a lot cheaper than my last projector - and that was hardly expensive. Really, you have no excuse not to have one.

Purchased the Optoma HD26 and I've got to say for the money this is by far one of the best projector I have seen. The definition is brilliant as good as my Sony 1080p led tv and it is very easy to set up

For the money this is a top notch performer! For movies it provides crisp bright and natural for colours. Blacks are solid giving good overall depth. The set up and use of the projector is very simple and intuitive and the unit looks good. I would recommend this machine to anyone.

I was really unsure about purchasing a projector, I made a couple of trips to the shop and did a lot of online research. Finally took the plunge and purchased an Optoma HD26 Projector. It's brilliant, and much sharper than I imagined. I'm really happy with my purchase and can't wait to use it over Christmas.

Very pleased with this projector overall.
Likes: Great picture quality, colours are much better than some online reviews suggest. Integrated speaker has been a lot more useful that I'd expected it would be. Very easy to use. Very compact and in a nicely-designed casing (hence I don't feel the need to hide it away).
Dislikes: I notice a slight rainbow effect on DLP projectors, only on stark black/white lines and only when I move my gaze around the screen. Apparently this is quite rare as most people cannot notice this, but I appear to be one of the unlucky ones! Secondly, fan noise is a tiny bit irritating, though I understand this is actually quite quiet compared to most projectors.
Overall, very happy and confident I chose the best projector in my price range.
